Sumith starts ‘Sapiriwara’


Young tele drama director Sumith Rohana Thiththawelgala started his latest tele drama ‘Sapiriwara’ recently with a muhurath ceremony at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Colombo.

Sapiriwara is produced by Karuna Weerakkody and the cast includes Malani Fonseka, Douglas Ranasinghe, Maureen Charuni, Janaka Kumbukage, Richard Weerakkody, Himali Sayurangi, Asela Jayakody, Samanthi Lanerolle, Sumith Rathnayake, Niroshan Illeperuma, Sarath Dikkumbura, Neil Alles, Kumara Siriwardana, Qunitus Weerakoon, Prasanna Fonseka, Nilangani Perera, Gnananga Gunawardana, Manel Wanaguru, Wasantha Pali, Vinoja Nilanthi, Mapalagama Wimalaratne, Jagath Manuwarna, Danushka Iroshani, Palitha Lokupothagama, Maneesha Namalgama, Chaya Sanjeewani, Sannet Dikkumbura, Camillus Yapa and several others.

Veteran cinematographer M.A. Gafoor will handle the camera while Hemantha Gamage will handle the make up department.

The art department will be in the charge of Asanga Neelawathura while Lalantha Jayakody will handle the editing. Keerthi Ratnayake and Anura Dayanjith will work as the assistant directors while E.W. Nishantha, Wasantha Pali and Udaya Shantha will be in charge of production management.

Sumith Rohana’s third tele creation ‘Sandagira’ is now being telecast on ITN every Monday at 7.30 pm. The cast includes Damitha Abeyratne, Jagath Chamila, Richard Weerakkody and Nilanthi Wijesinghe.
