Rienzie elected to head National Stroke Association

Hatton National Bank Chairman Rienzie Wijetileka was unanimously elected President of the National Stroke Association at its recent annual general meeting.

The Association was founded three years ago with the objective of creating an awareness of stroke-related ailments among the public and to minimize deaths caused by strokes.

Other office bearers are: Tissa Bandaranayake, Dr. Preethi Wijegunawardana, Daya Abeysekera, Secretary, Rosanna Warnakulasuriya, Assistant Secretary, Joint Editors Dr. Senaka Rajapakse, Dr. M.T.M. Rizvi, Prema Cooray, Baron de Livers, Prof. Devaka Fernando, Dr. Indunil Wijeweera, Dr. Ruwan Ekanayake, Dr. Lucian Jayasuriya.

The last Sunday of February each year has been declared National Stroke Day.
